VOLUNTEER

We always need volunteers to help us with our dogs and cats, and now more than ever. From hands-on work with the animals at our shelter, to driving a cat to a vet appointment; from shopping for supplies to playing with and socializing our puppies; from fostering a kitten in your home to taking a dog for a walk once in a while - we have many volunteer opportunities. Whether you can spare an hour a month or a few hours a week, we need you! Please click here to find out more about volunteering with LAA.

ADOPTIONS

We have many, many cats and dogs, puppies and kittens available for adoption to good, loving homes. Our animals are all spayed or neutered, they have received all necessary veterinary care and are up-to-date on all their shots. We know each of our cats and dogs very well and can help you find a new pet who fits right in with your family and lifestyle. Please visit our adoption pages to learn more about our pets, and visit our shelter in person to meet them!

Shhhhh..... SWEET DREAMS

We’ve chosen Kuranda pet beds for our shelter because they are so good for our dogs and cats. But we don't have enough. If you would like to donate a bed (at a special, discounted price) so another dog or cat can sleep in proper comfort, please click here.

OUR FEATURED PET - MEET FANTASIA!

Fantasia, (Fanny to her friends) is a gorgeous purebred silver-tipped Chinchilla Persian who needs a new home (she has been surrendered by her owners due to allergies - theirs, not hers!). She’s a petite cat but her long luscious hair makes her look bigger than she is. Some of her favorite things are daily brushing and chicken! She’s a senior girl at 11 years old and she’d do best as the only household pet. She’s already spayed and she’s front declawed. She’s a lovely cat and will make a wonderful, quiet and faithful companion to the right family. Please call us at (337) 896-1553 or email lafanimalaid@yahoo.com right away if you’d like to meet her.

DID YOU KNOW......

...... that if you adopt two of our cats, the adoption fee for the second is reduced by half!!! And remember - two are always twice as nice!
