Most Girls, when planning for their 8th birthday, want a huge party and ask for gifts like barbies, bicycles or even and Ipad, but Maddie Harris very unselfishly asked her guests for something very special. On her invite she requested donations to local animal shelters and included "wish lists" for some of them, including Lafayette Animal Aid. So at her party she received dog and cat foor, cat litter, mik bones and many chew toys. And why did she do this? She had be given Horse riding lessons from a wonderful teacher called Mickey Shunick, who taught her to love all animals. So in Mickey's honor she gave up on gifts for herself and though of all the animals who are in shelters. We all at Lafayette Animal Aid and the other resuces say a big THANK YOU!
